Highlights

Itinerary

1. Diamond Head Lookout

Our first point of interest takes us to beautiful Diamond Head Lookout, where you will be able to catch the end of the sunrise. The surf is almost always up at Diamond Head beach, so you can watch the surfers and see other Hawaiian Islands on a clear Day. *Please understand that this stop is not the Diamond Head State Monument that is inside of the crater. Another name for this location is the Amelia Earhart Lookout.

2. Kahala (Pass By)

After the Diamond Head Lookout, our second point of interest is the Gold Coast in Kahala. This area is like the Beverly Hills of Hawaii. You will see unbelievably large and luxurious properties and expansive estates that are owned by movie stars, celebrities, dignitaries, entrepreneurs, and of course doctors and lawyers. Definitely an interesting sight to take in.

3. Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve (Pass By)

Hanauma Bay is a beautiful marine embayment on the eastern shore of the Hawaiian island of Oahu. It was formed within a volcanic cone and is a protected marine life conservation area that attracts over one million visitors every year. The bay is home to a diverse range of marine life, including over 400 species of fish, sea turtles, and reef sharks. The beach and bay are surrounded by lush green hills, which provide a stunning backdrop to the crystal-clear waters. Hanauma Bay has a significant historical and cultural significance for the Hawaiian people. The bay was once a site for traditional Hawaiian fishing practices, and the surrounding land was used for farming by ancient Hawaiians. Please note that due to parking limitations, we are not able to stop at Hanauma Bay. This is a drive by attraction, and the tour guide will provide information.

4. Halona Blowhole

After we pass through Kahala, one of the most interesting points along our journey around Oahu is the powerful Halona Blowhole. Come and marvel at this geologic wonder as it shoots water into the heavens. As the waves crash into the rocks, the water moves underneath the rocks from underwater caves. Then the pressure builds up and it shoots the water as high as you can see. One of Oahu's geologic wonders!

5. Eternity Beach

Situated Near the blowhole in an incredibly beautiful corner of Oahu is a secret beach made famous in the movie "From Here to Eternity." This little cove is extraordinary, and one of our hidden gems. If you have some extra time while here on vacation, we recommend that you come back to spend the day... It's just about the most relaxing place on the planet!

6. Sandy Beach Park

After the Blowhole and Eternity Beach, we'll come upon the body boarding, body surfing, skim boarding, and broken neck capital of the world... Sandy Beach. A famous hangout for locals, and just amazing playground, Sandy Beach is the perfect place to watch the experts play with expert waves... It's also a convenient bathroom stop for our tour!

7. Makapu'u Point (Pass By)

After we are pau with Sandy Beach, we will continue our journey and round the Eastern Corner of the Island of Oahu. As we do, you will get a glimpse at one of the most awe-inspiring views that you will ever see. The vista from the Makapu'u Point lookout is truly something to behold... The Bluest of Blues, the Greenest of Greens, ancient jagged lava rock surrounding yellow sand, and the Makapu'u lighthouse sitting stoic in the background. Someone pinch me...

8. Makapuu Lighthouse (Pass By)

Makapu'u is a stunning coastal area located on the eastern side of Oahu, Hawaii. It is known for its iconic lighthouse, scenic hiking trails, and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can explore the Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail, which offers a moderate hike and panoramic views of the coastline. The area is also home to Makapu'u Beach, a popular destination for swimming and bodyboarding. Historically, Makapu'u played an important role in the defense of Oahu. The lighthouse was built in 1909 to guide ships through the treacherous waters off the coast, and during World War II, the area was used as a lookout and gun emplacement site. Today, the lighthouse and surrounding area are part of the Ka Iwi State Scenic Shoreline, which showcases the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Hawaiian Islands. Overall, Makapu'u is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Oahu.

9. Nuuanu Pali Lookout

Perched high in the Koʻolau Mountain Range at an elevation of over 1,200 feet, the Nuuanu Pali Lookout offers visitors one of the most spectacular panoramic views in all of Hawaii. From the lookout, guests are treated to sweeping views of the lush windward coast, with the towns of Kaneohe and Kailua stretching below, backed by the vast Pacific Ocean. The steep, emerald-green cliffs of the Koʻolau Mountains frame the scene, creating a jaw-dropping contrast between land and sea. On a clear day, visitors can see Chinaman’s Hat (Mokoliʻi Island) and even parts of the North Shore in the distance. The Nuuanu Pali Lookout is not just a scenic stop—it is also a site of deep historical significance. It was here, in 1795, that King Kamehameha I won the decisive Battle of Nuuanu, uniting the Hawaiian Islands under his rule. Hundreds of warriors were driven over the steep cliffs in one of Hawaii’s most legendary battles.

10. Byodo-In Temple (Pass By)

The Byodo-In Temple is a stunning Buddhist temple located in the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The temple was built in the 1960s to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii. It is a replica of a 900-year-old temple in Uji, Japan and features traditional Japanese architecture and beautiful landscaping. The temple is known for its intricate wood carvings, beautiful gardens, and stunning architecture, which includes a large golden Buddha statue. Visitors can ring the temple bell, which is said to bring good luck, and explore the serene surroundings. The Byodo-In Temple has become a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. This is a pass by on the tour.

11. Waimanalo Beach (Pass By)

After we round the corner of the Eastern tip of Oahu, we will come upon the quaint town of Waimanalo... There's London, Paris, Tokyo... And then there's Waimanalo... The exact opposite! It is here where we will find a beach park that is consistently ranked as one of the top beaches in the world. Also dubbed Sherwood Forest, what makes this beach so spectacular is the vast amount of Ironwood Trees that grow far out onto the beach in the sand. This creates a view of the forest meeting the ocean in spectacular fashion. Hands down the best camping spot on the island. Due to regulations, we can't get off the bus here, but we're gonna pull in just so you can see it from the bus.

12. Mokoli’i Island

Behold the legendary Mokoli'i Island! This picturesque island off the coast of Kaneohe Bay is a volcanic formation that is about as iconic with the Island of Oahu as Diamond Head. Mokoliʻi translates from Hawaiian as "little lizard." According to Hawaiian mythology, the island is the remains of a giant lizard's or dragon's tail that was chopped off and tossed into the ocean by the goddess Hiʻiaka. Definitely a picture that you need to have stored on your data card.

13. Kahuku Farms

Mango, Pineapple, Coconut, Breadfruit, Dragon Fruit, Egg Fruit, Lilikoi, Honey Dew, Cantaloupe, Papaya, Apple Bananas, Ice Cream Bananas, Kiwis, Lychee, Rambutan, Sapote, Chi Chi, Jack Fruit... I could go on, but I think I would run out of character limit. The amazing Kahuku Land Fruit Stand has it all... Every fruit that you've ever heard of, and definitely every fruit that you've never heard off. Enjoy interacting with local farmers and tasting tropical fruits at this fun location.

14. Oahu's North Shore (Ongoing)

The Oahu North Shore is a world-famous destination known for its stunning beaches, iconic surf culture, and breathtaking scenery. The area is home to some of the best surfing spots in the world, including Waimea Bay and Pipeline, which draw professional surfers from around the globe. Visitors can explore the charming town of Haleiwa, which offers unique shops, art galleries, and delicious local cuisine. The North Shore also has a rich cultural history, dating back to ancient Hawaiian times. The area was once home to numerous fishing communities and is known for its unique style of fishing using handmade nets and canoes. Visitors can learn about this rich cultural heritage. Overall, the Oahu North Shore is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Hawaii. Its natural beauty, unique culture, and world-renowned surf culture make it an unforgettable experience.

15. Kahuku

Okay cousins... Now it's time to Grind! We've had a very busy morning and everyone has worked up quite an appetite.Don't worry, we've got you covered with succulent Kahuku shrimp. Garlic, Spicy, Lemon, Original... The famous Shrimp Trucks have it all! Kahuku, Hawaii is known to some of the most productive shrimp farms in Hawaii. These premium shrimp are exported all over the world, but now is your change to eat them at there freshest. Non-seafood options too. *Note: The cost of lunch is not included in the price of the tour.

16. Laie Hawaii Temple (Pass By)

After we have our fill over at the Macadamia Nut Plantation, it's time to get back on the road. The next stop we'll make is over to the amazingly beautiful Temple of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Laie, on the North Shore of Oahu. This city has a thriving Mormon community, and is home to one of the campuses of Brigham Young University, BYU Hawaii. This building is an amazing site to see because it's very architecturally significant. We won't be able to go inside, but we'll drive by so you can appreciate the view.

17. Tropical Farms (The Macadamia Nut Farm Outlet)

After passing through Sherwood Forest Park, it's time to go to one our most popular stops... Why is it so popular? Free (all you can eat) Macadamia Nuts and Free (all you can drink) Kona Coffee of course! But it doesn't stop there, this is a bonafide macadamia nut plantation where you can crack open your own mac nuts, drink cold coconut juice right out of the coconut, mingle with Samoan Chiefs, and find that perfect, unique gift to bring home with you. This is always one of our guests favorite stops. *Note: Please leave a donation if you hit the coffee and nuts pretty hard. =)

18. Haleiwa (Snorkeling)

We have now nourished our bodies, regained our energy stores, and it's time to make our way out through Haleiwa to go to our snorkeling site. Haleiwa is one of the most original and unique towns in America... Much less Hawaii. Enjoy the sites of the town as we make our way to the Sea Turtle Snorkeling site at Haleiwa Beach. Once we reach the beach, we will responsibly interact and snorkel with the turtles for approximately 45 mins.

19. Dole Plantation

There's hardly any place more associated with Hawaii than the Dole Pineapple Plantation in Wahiawa, Oahu. It's also one of our guests favorite stops, and a fantastic way to begin to wrap up this adventurous day. Dole Plantation offers a wide variety of unique gifts and refreshments including fresh pineapple, and DoleWhip ice cream. This is a great spot to watch the Dole Train, grab some things to bring home, or send as gifts.

What do people say about Aloha Circle Island Tours?

We were a group of 26 family and friends of different ages who came from Sydney and places in the US to gather for a memorial for our loved one. Joe was great to liaise with to organise our airport transfers and to co-ordinate our memorial event. The event itself was everything I could ask for and Joe took us to various places in Oahu leaving Waikīkī at 8.30am and not returning until 6.30pm. Joe was a big personality who was a wealth of knowledge and kept us all entertained and kept the vibe fun. Joe co-ordinated our return airport transfers as our group was leaving at different times and also took some group members to other places as they arranged with him. We communicated via email and WhatsApp and Joe was always prompt to response and keep me informed. I would highly recommend this business for any tours, personalised tours or airport transfer they are a local family business who want to ensure you have a great experience on your trip to Hawaii.

Our guide was the best. He told the history of the island and the many places we stopped. He also made sure we had enough breaks and enough time to take plenty of pictures. There was plenty to see and do and it was a really enjoyable day!

Had a great time with Kapeana, our tour guide. He made pick up right on time, and made sure everyone was accounted for at the pick up points. It’s a great way to see the island and hit a lot of attractions at once. The guide was very knowledgeable about the island. The pacing was really nice, not spending extended time on the bus between attractions. More time at the Mac Nut Farm would’ve been welcomed as we didn’t have long to sample and browse the store. We did run into a rescheduling due to maintenance but the change was made easily. Also I was asked to participate in a webinar at the time of rescheduling that sounded like a timeshare pitch but respectfully declined and didn’t feel pressured afterwards. Thanks for a great tour of Oahu!!

Apparently, Aloha Circle Island Tours has partnered up with Nui Tours for our particular tour and we couldn't be happier. We were blessed to have a Native Hawaiian, Aka, one of the last remaining "pure blood" Hawaiians as our guide. To say he was an amazing representative of the Hawaiian people and culture is an understatement. It's like saying Duke was a good swimmer/surfer. Duke was legendary and so is Aka. The truth is closer to this. I cannot fathom a better tour guide to immerse a new comer to Hawaii. From the etymology of the words, history of Hawaiian Kings/Queens, to Native songs belted out with Aloha and enthusiasm, I was simply blown away. Thank you Aloha Tours. You've got a Michelin star tour guide.

it was my first time doing a guided tour like this and I would definitely recommend it for anyone's first time to Oahu! big shout out to our tour guide, jake and driver, (uncle) wang! jake was super friendly, kind, funny and personable. he made an effort to talk to everyone on the tour bus which was nice since we were spending like 9+ hours together I really appreciate the thought that went into the itinerary and how smooth everything was. managing a group of 50 people is not an easy task and I appreciated all the thoughtful things they did to make the day go smoothly such as airdropping/texting us all the menu for the shrimp restaurant prior to arriving and collecting payment so food would be ready when we arrived. they also provided cold bottled water and chips but you're welcome to bring any food/snacks with you. I was worried about the pick-up being difficult based on other reviews but it actually went really smoothly. there are usually multiple tour buses at the pick-up location but if you don't know which one to get on you can call their phone # to get the bus # or just ask the people standing outside the buses! tips: you only get 40 min at the dole plantation so to maximize your time I would suggest getting your ice cream from the truck outside (they sell the same things inside the gift shop but the line was shorter outside when I went). if you want to ride the train it's 20 min and I think they only run every 15-20 min so definitely get in line quickly. you can also get dole whip in waikiki so you can prioritize the train.

Jake was our guide on the north shore premium tour, his sense of humour made the day fun, love his unique way of getting us all back to the bus, a conch shell!! We got in all the stops and even got a bonus fishing trip thrown in, thanks Jake i'll never pay for fish food when there is doritos around again!! If your new to the island we did this day one after getting in and it truly is best way to start your Hawaiian experience. As you get to see the entire island. Lunch at the shrimp place... omg hooked for life, lol so good. Was our first taste of Hawaiian food culture and no regrets there! Mahalo to Jake and to our driver Rob!!!

Unko D was the best! Definitely a 10 out of 10. I really enjoyed how he took pride in sharing his information. Was definitely informative and an eye opener. Kept the entire bus engaged throughout the entire trip. Offered to stop by his house for my wife who was cold (we declined) he was very personable and took his time to talk to everyone individually making all feel included and not like a generic tour. From what I’ve heard a few other tour guides should take a crash course with him because we literally had people join our tour because their guides weren’t very good. I would definitely book this trip again if I knew I was going to be with Unko D! Thank you for the memorable tour!

This is the best tour we’ve been on in years. Our guide Cousin Johnny knew everything about the island. He was very informative about all aspects of the island.

Our tour bus driver/teacher, Cousin Johnny, was the most incredible experience we had in Honolulu and I was born and raised on the Big Island! Not only was he informative, he was entertaining, played games, and he kept everyone organized and on time. Most of all, he went above and beyond the call of duty. When Cousin Johnny realized that one of us still did not get our luggage from Hawaiian Air since the day before and watched how at every opportunity we tried to contact someone from HA and nobody bothered to answer any of the numbers (once held for 1 hour), he offered to help us. After the tour and dropping everyone off at their respective hotels, Cousin Johnny went to the airport, retrieved our luggage and personally brought it our hotel! We wanted to kiss his feet. Next time we go back to Honolulu, we will personally ask for him.

Wonderful tour! Caleb was our tour guide and he was phenomenal. He never rushed our group and made sure our questions were always answered. Hands down the best day we've had in HI. Glad we decided to go on this tour. The blowhole was absolutely stunning, clear and warm water. The temple was gorgeous and our kids loved feeding the koi fish and birds. Lunch was DELICIOUS at Tanaka shrimp farms. The gift shop was a great stop, everyone is so kind and there was fresh coconut and pineapple right outside of the shop. Highly recommend you check out this tour and if there's a way to request Caleb as your tour guide, do it! You won't regret it.

We enjoyed this tour a lot! You make about 15 stops starting at around 7am and we didn’t get back to Waikiki until about 630pm so it is a long day, but you get to see so much and learn so much- our tour guide Kathleen was amazing! She definitely deserves a raise! She shared history of the island (Oahu) and info on the culture overall, that you really wouldn’t know if it didn’t come from a local themselves, there was so much to learn and it was so insightful. You have a different kind of respect for the island and culture after this tour. Kathleen kept everyone involved and kept the jokes coming too, which we much appreciated :) aside from the stops you make at the designated places, she pointed out tons of landmarks around the island while we were driving, educated us on the different parts and neighborhoods around the island, and we even saw some celebrity’s houses which was pretty cool. The Mac nut farm and coffee farm were amazing, you HAVE to get some mac nuts and the coffee from the coffee farm was THE best coffee we had during our stay. Tim was an awesome driver too!! Mahalo 💛

Our driver, Will, was AWESOME! I felt safe the whole trip and he was SO accommodating. I would want him on every trip. Now let’s talk about our tour guide, Mack. This guy was LEGIT! He was so much fun, honest, knowledgeable about the islands, and just all around great! He made us all feel heard and was also very accommodating. Would definitely want him as my guide every time! Someone needs to give this man a raise!

Both Mac and Will were amazing! We had a lot of fun! Would definitely recommend taking this and get a very nice tour of the entire Oahu!! Paul made the ride fun and educational, talking of customs, history, etc. and letting riders know the ground rules. Amazing sights and views. Decent stops tho lunch for a vegetarian needed veggies, would’ve preferred healthier rice like the shrimp meals to noodles or a stop at the fruit stands before the lunch stop for better eats.

Our tour was fantastic! However, this is mainly because we had the BEST tour guide ever--Aka! He is a native Hawaiian filled with cultural insights, that taught us Hawaiian words A true gem. We went around the island and got to see many places we would not have seen otherwise. Snorkeling was fun and we did see a sea turle; however, the visibility was poor in the water. I wish we had more time to explore North Shore. The day was great. Here are some tips. I bought my tickets through the Aloha Circle Island Groupon site. It ended up being legit. I was on the same tour with everyone else. They seem to have a dedicated groupon site for them, but it worked. We also did our Pearl Harbor tour through Aloha too. Interestingly-- I had thought of booking my 'circle island tour' through NuiTours--maybe I liked the website better--- well when pick up time came for the morning of the tour I found out that others HAD booked the Nui Tour. I talked to the guide and he explained that there are several vendors for the tours but that it is all the same tour--they funnel you into the same thing-- so I guess find the best price. You all end up together. The one lady from Nui Tours didnt think she had paid for snorkeling--but I knew I had that in my trip-- we all ended up snorkeling no matter which place you had paid.I am glad I planned this for our first day on the island so we could see what our options were for the week. There was no bathroom on the bus, but we stopped a various places and it all worked out for the day. The lunch wasn't that great, and was over priced. Now I will share this. Our bus was great, our ride was great and our tour guide was great. However, we did have to 'rescue' other people on an excursion. Their bus broke down. They were with Nui Tours on a smaller little bus for some photo expedition. Those people got on our bus very unhappy. Their tour was awful--the bus broke down twice. They were stranded on the street waiting and saw nothing. Then when they complained and told the tour guide they wanted a refund---he told the owner ( I believe it would be the owner of Nui Tours) and according to several of these stranded people-- the owner told them they could 'get the heck off his bus and pay the $85 fee for an Uber back to their hotels". On top of that they said their bus had cockroaches on it. I wouldnt believe it but there were several upset people and I saw no reason for them to lie. That was their experience and yet ours was wonderful. That just showed me how you can get such different reviews of same companies. Hopefully the owner will repair that little bus. I think it probably should ever have been out for that day in the first place. That was so unfortunate for them, but they all enjoyed our wonderful happy bus returning back with our wonderful guide Aka. We were all laughing and singing all day.

Great tour! Henry told us so much about the island and the language. Stopped at a ton of cool places, got to see a monk seal sunbathing and got to snorkle a little bit. Our tour guide was so amazing. Only issue we had was with the pickup We booked with Expedia and the address for pickup we walked to Once there, they didn't call our name. We asked them if this was the correct tour and they said yes but processed to get mad at us and argue with us for not being at our hotel for pickup instead of the address that was on the booking!!!! We walked for 45 min to get to the address on the booking. We would have definitely preferred to be picked up at our hotel but this is not what was stated. Other than that it was a great time!

Eddie was our tour guide and he was hands down, the most knowledgeable, genuine and sweetest person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He made the tour so enjoyable and I learned so much! Part of my heart was left in Hawaii and I hope to return some day! If I ever get the chance, I will absolutely take another all day, circle island tour. From top to bottom, this was such a great tour! We visited iconic places, as well as mom and pop food stands and a nursery! Each place, staying long enough to get a feel for the place, should we wish to return on our own. Our guide, Kaimana, has the craft of storytelling DOWN! He is personable, highly knowledgeable, kind, and patient! He also knows first hand, the “must do” hikes on the island and their level of difficulty. Soooo helpful for this senior citizen! I would highly recommend this tour, and DO ask for Kaimana to be your guide…you will feel the spirit of the islands in his good care! Mahalo, Kaimana!

He knew everyone's name and interacted with each person the entire trip. We learned so incredibly much and he just made it so much fun throughout the day trip.
